Ian Trusheim is an electric bassist, composer and instructor of music known for his versatility and adaptability as well as his dedication to the art of music. As a student with a lifelong commitment to music, he will continue to create, collaborate, perform and educate for years to come.
As a bandleader and composer Ian showcases his original compositions, eclectically combining elements of jazz, funk, soul, gospel, Latin American and folkloric music from across the globe. Drawing inspiration from both his musical predecessors and contemporaries alike, he creates a unique path of his own.
As a sideman, some of the musicians/groups he has recorded, toured or performed with include: Nick Waterhouse, Cory Henry, Adam Wakefield, Cris Jacobs, Lafayette Gilchrest and numerous regional acts in the Mid Atlantic area.
Respecting the unique qualities in all people, Ian tailors his lessons to meet the individual needs and areas of interest for each of his students. He strives to provide them with a solid foundation of musical principles through knowledge of music theory, reading music, proper technique and listening.
