Stages offers lessons on a variety of instruments for musicians of all ages and skill levels, and can help supplement students’ participation in school bands and orchestras.
Our highly talented woodwind instructors can teach students of all ages and skills while sharing their love and inspiring passion for playing music. Instructors work with students on technique, fingerings, embouchure (using the lips, facial muscles, tongue and teeth), theory and more, and can help more advanced students take their playing to the next level.
Our world-class strings instructors teach students technique, arm position and form, and work with more advanced students on more complex musical concepts and skills. Instructors inspire students to play their best through weekly individualized lessons.
Our expert brass instructors teach beginners technique involving posture, foot placement, breathing and embouchure exercises, and can help more advanced players refine and expand their knowledge and skills. Whether it’s for school band or casual playing, our brass instructors make weekly lessons fun and engaging.
The ukulele is a great starter instrument for students interested in guitar and bass. There are fewer strings, the nylon strings are easy on the fingers, all skills transfer to guitar and bass, and, of course, everyone loves ukulele! The ukulele can also remain a student’s main instrument, and our instructors are here to help more advanced players on their musical journey.
Aspiring producers, DJs and beat makers can dive into the exciting world of recording and producing music with our highly knowledgeable producers. Students will learn how to use digital audio workstations (DAWs) in a professional production lab, and write, record and share original compositions at a VIP listening party.
Whether you’re brand new to banjo or have been playing for years, our instructors will get you tuning, rolling, playing chords, finger-picking and building a repertoire of songs from roots, bluegrass and other banjo music traditions.
Our mandolin instructors teach picking technique, strumming, chords and ensure students have fun while learning all the essential skills to get them playing songs and solos.
If you’ve always wanted to learn the craft of writing a great song, look no further than Stages’ songwriting lessons. Using concepts like arrangement, song structure and chord progressions, students will learn how to harness their creative output and put it into song. The recording technology in our lesson rooms allows students and instructors to regularly write and record music together. In the process, students will learn how to use leading digital audio workstations, the software they use to record their songs.
