Eyan Varacalle-Goetz Releases Original Album – Circle of Life

Long-time Stages student Eyan Varacalle-Goetz recently released his debut album – Circle of Life – after many months of hard work alongside his teacher, Jason Cohen. Eyan, who is currently 17 years old, started taking drum lessons a decade ago, eventually diving into music production – drawing on both skill sets to create his original compositions.
Eyan says he didn’t start out to make an album, simply starting with a handful of songs. From there, he watched it take on a life of its own as it all “fell into place.” He expresses how awesome it is to see your ideas come to life and feels the finished product is a good balance between tracks that are calming and relaxing and other pieces where the intensity picks up.
Eyan says one thing this process taught him was patience. “Going into detail with each track, mixing in layers. I’m most proud of just finishing it. Seeing it fall into place is rewarding.” Eyan also expresses gratitude for Jason’s support, saying he was always there to encourage, troubleshoot and keep things moving forward.

It has been an absolute pleasure working with Eyan on this album. From the very beginning to the final product, I’ve seen tremendous growth in him not just musically, but creatively and personally as well. I truly admire his drive and passion throughout the entire process.
He has made huge strides in idea creation, melody writing, drum programming, arranging, and mixing. I’ve also seen this growth translate to the drum set, where his creativity has expanded and his confidence has grown. This project has empowered him to take on bigger and more ambitious musical challenges.
I’m incredibly proud of him for setting big goals, following through on them, and building the momentum to create and accomplish even more in the future.
