Private lessons Performance programs or Group Classes? What's best for me?

For students and their parents who are ready to enroll in their first music program, there are many options to choose from. At Stages Music Arts, we offer a bit of everything! So Private lessons Performance programs or Group Classes? What’s best for me?

Private Lessons with The Stages Academy

Private lessons are weekly one-on-one sessions with an instructor. Private lessons can be 30 or 60 minutes. Because of the individual attention a student gets in private lessons, they are the fastest, most effective way to progress and improve. Private lessons allow for an individualized approach to learning, so you can play exactly what you want to play.

Enrolling in weekly private lessons makes you a Stages Academy member! As a Stages Academy member, you get a specialized 8-level curriculum for your instrument of choice along with a ton of resources to help you along the way. As an Academy member, you also have the opportunity to perform in three recitals each year, as well as open mics, jam nights, bonus classes and discounts on concerts, masterclasses, and audio/video services!

Band/Performance Programs

Our performance programs are perfect for putting your practice to work! They’re great for making friends and learning how to work as a team. A final concert each semester provides performance experience and an extra boost of motivation to practice every day! Many students in our Performance Programs choose to take private lessons as well, so they get the best of both worlds!

Group Classes

Here at Stages, we offer 4-6 unique group classes each month. These classes are low-commitment and low-cost, so they’re perfect for exploring new topics and getting different perspectives on music. One-time classes are also a great opportunity to learn from different instructors!

Best of All Worlds

Our most successful students take advantage of as many opportunities as they can! They take private lessons for personal musical development, attend group classes to broaden their musical horizons, and participate in group performance programs for confidence building, collaboration and fun! If you have further questions about where to begin, feel free to call us at 443-353-5300 and we will gladly assist you to find the perfect fit!
