Stages Music Arts is proud to offer two unique performance spaces – each designed to deliver unforgettable live music experiences.

Whether you’re attending a show in our elegant indoor performance hall or enjoying a performance under the stars on our outdoor patio stage, we want your experience to be as seamless, enjoyable and memorable as possible. 

Below you’ll find answers to common questions about tickets, seating, accessibility, weather policies, and more. Let us help you get ready for a great time!

FAQ: General

Do I need to buy tickets in advance?

Yes, we strongly recommend purchasing tickets in advance, especially for indoor shows in our intimate performance hall, which has limited seating (60 seats) and often sells out. 

Where can I buy tickets?

Tickets to all “Stages Presents” concerts & events are available via Eventbrite, also accessible via the Stages Events page (linked on each event listing). If available, door tickets may be offered for purchase at the door. Occasionally, tickets to privately organized events may be available on different platforms. 

Can I show my ticket on my phone?

Yes, digital tickets are encouraged! Just have the QR code or confirmation email ready at check-in.

When do doors open?

Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Please check the event listing for exact times.

Is there on-site parking?

Yes, we have ample free parking in our lot. Overflow parking is also available on nearby side streets.

Is the venue accessible for wheelchairs or people with disabilities?

Absolutely. Our venue is ADA-compliant, and we’re happy to assist with seating. Contact us in advance or notify the front desk staff upon arrival.

Is alcohol allowed?

If the event is designated as BYOB, beer and wine are ONLY are allowed for guests 21+ with the purchase of a BYOB ticket upgrade. Legal drinking age will be verified upon entry. Please drink responsibly. 

  • no liquor is permitted
  • all alcohol must be transported in soft coolers
  • glass bottles are not permitted 

Are concerts all-ages?

Unless otherwise specified, our shows are open to all ages. Please use discretion when bringing young children, especially to louder or evening performances.

Can I take pictures or record video?

Photography and video is allowed unless otherwise noted, but flash is prohibited. Please tag us on social media @StagesMusicArts

Will the concert be recorded or streamed?

Some shows may be professionally recorded or streamed. If so, signage will be posted and audience consent is assumed upon entry.

How do I find out about upcoming concerts?

Follow us on Instagram or Facebook, sign up for our email newsletter, or check the Events page on our website.

What should I do if I lose something at a concert?

We will do our best to reunite you with your belongings! To inquire about lost items, you can:

 

Is smoking allowed at the venue?

Smoking is not allowed anywhere on the patio or event space, except in clearly marked designated smoking areas.

FAQ: Indoor Performance Hall

Is there reserved seating?

Seating in the Julian S. Smith Performance Hall is general admission, and therefore available on a first come, first served basis. 

What happens if I arrive late?

Late arrivals are permitted, but please be respectful and enter quietly to avoid disrupting the performance, ideally waiting for applause between songs. 

What is the concert atmosphere like?

Intimate, high-quality, and community-focused. Our Performance Hall offers a listening room environment — perfect for music lovers who want to enjoy the show without distractions.

Are food or snacks available?

We generally do not serve food, but you’re welcome to bring light snacks. Please be respectful of others and avoid disruptive packaging or smells.

Can I rent the Performance Hall for a private event or concert?

Yes! Please contact our office (call/text 443-353-5300 or email us) for rental information.

The grounds are gorgeous and the facility is jaw dropping beautiful. I swear, being there made me wanna be a singer. I came there with good friends to an outdoor event. LOVED IT!

FAQ: Outdoor Patio Stage

Do outdoor concerts happen rain or shine?

Yes. Our outdoor events are held rain or shine. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately. Umbrellas are permitted but should not obstruct views or other guests’ experiences.

Should I bring my own seating?

 Yes! Portable or collapsible chairs are encouraged. There is no formal seating provided unless noted otherwise. Low-profile chairs are appreciated to preserve sight lines for all guests.

Is there shade available?

Shade is limited, so we recommend wearing hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen. Please do not bring tents or large umbrellas unless explicitly permitted for that event.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are not permitted. Only licensed service animals are allowed on the premises.

What items are prohibited?

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, the following items are not allowed:

  • professional cameras or recording equipment
  • laser pointers 
  • noisemakers
  • weapons of any kind
  • tobacco products (except in designated areas)
  • selfie sticks
  • glass containers
  • illegal substances

Do I need to wear shoes?

Yes. Shoes are required at all times while on the premises.

Where is the outdoor concert held?

 Our outdoor shows take place on the Performance Patio (or occasionally, for larger events, in the field), located behind the main building at Stages Music Arts, 10 Stenersen Lane, Cockeysville, MD 21030. 

Can I bring my own food?

Yes! Outside food is welcome and many of our events feature food vendors on site. Please note:

  • only soft coolers are allowed
  • glass containers are strictly prohibited
  • food should be packed in clear containers or transparent bags

What kind of bag can I bring?

To ensure safety and quick entry:

  • no backpacks of any size are permitted
  • bags must not exceed 15″x15″
  • bags may be searched prior to entry
