Join resident guitar shredder Paul Tokarz on Monday, August 28th to learn about common guitar pedals and a couple of unique ones and how to chain them together. He'll demonstrate the basic ins and outs of the pedals (overdrive, delay, chorus, modulation, wah, etc.) and when it is appropriate to use each one. You'll also learn how to emulate some of the classic sounds of world famous guitar players using pedal effects.

Stages instructor and famed mandolin player Ryan Rogers of The Dirty Grass Players will explain the mandolin's role in a bluegrass band and share how to approach learning the melody and chords during a jam. He'll focus on closed position chop chords to easily transpose songs into different keys! This workshop is accessible to beginners, but some mandolin experience is preferred and students will need to bring their own instrument.

Kids 4-10 --- join Brennan McShane to play training games in a fun, engaging environment. Class is designed to develop and strengthen aural skills of young musicians aiming to join bands, bring these concepts to their own practice and lessons, or just enjoy a fun challenge with friends. Concepts will include pitch relationships, chord qualities, tempo relationships, and solfege. Activities would include hearing 2 notes or musical excerpts and picking the higher one, analyzing tempos (which version of 'Baby Shark' is faster/higher pitched/ etc), identifying chords ('majorly happy, minorly sad, other') and beginning solfège (here's' do'- guess which solfège syllable the mystery note is).
