Whiskey Feathers Live at Stages

Julian S. Smith Performance Hall 10 Stenersen Lane, Cockeysville, MD, United States
$23 Stages Student; $28 General Admission

Join the Whiskey Feathers as they play TWO intimate shows to celebrate the release of their new album - Stardust a Garden - at Stages Music Arts on Saturday, April 22nd at 5:30 or 7:45 PM (doors at 5 PM and 7:15 PM respectively). Whiskey Feathers are a 6-piece roots rock band from Baltimore and the surrounding hills of northern Maryland. If you can imagine the vibe of The Last Waltz, add a healthy dose of potent Stapleton-esque leads, and top it with soprano and alto harmonies, you can start to get a sense of Whiskey Feathers’ sound. The band’s growing catalog of original music runs the gamut of emotional peaks from jubilation to introspection with songs crafted by bandleader Brittain Duckworth. Whiskey flew into Brittain’s life, then it flew off, and it dropped some feathers of songs as it flew the coop. That’s the kind of thing Brittain writes songs about; his commitment to quitting drinking, or reflecting on a turbulent past, or contemplating his place within the cosmos—crystalline lyrics on his examination of the human condition, all floating above a roots rock menagerie of folk, country, and blues. Whiskey Feathers are Brittain Duckworth on baritone vocals, acoustic guitar, and harmonica, Jenny Fitchett singing soprano vocals and playing keys, Kyndal Gehlbach singing alto and playing violin, Lucas Chohany playing electric guitar, Jon Schroeder playing the basses, and E.J. Thompson on drums.

Conor & The Wild Hunt w/ Sophia Bryter Band

Julian S. Smith Performance Hall 10 Stenersen Lane, Cockeysville, MD, United States
$10 Stages Students; $15 General Admission

Conor & The Wild Hunt animates soulful original songs with fresh perspectives on Americana, Folk, and pop traditions. They encompass a wide dynamic range, from contemplative cinematic ballads to anthemic explosive peaks, with story-weaving lyrics, artful and driving instrumentation, impassioned duets, blooming three part harmonies, and a compelling stage presence. The band consists of professional and committed multi-instrumentalist musicians working together to create immersive musical experiences. Sophia Bryter is an 18-year-old songwriter and musician based in Baltimore. After joining her first audition-based band through music school and recording studio, Stages Music Arts, Bryter created a band under her own name with whom she would record an album of original music. The process of creating an album was life-changing for Bryter, not only due to the catharsis involved in the completion of a personal collection of music, but also due to the friendships made with the members of the band. The band features: guitarist, Morgan Gonce; bassist, Oliver Unger; and drummer, Andrew Young. Doors at 5:30 PM; Show at 6 PM

Victoria Victoria, featuring Charlie Hunter

The Patio Stage at Stages Music Arts 10 Stenersen Lane, Cockeysville, MD, United States
$30 General Admission; $25 Stages Students; $40 Day of Show

Join us on June 22nd at 7:30 PM for an elegant evening of Indie Pop on the Stages patio with Victoria Victoria, featuring Charlie Hunter. Victoria Victoria is the brain child of singer-songwriter-producer, Tori Elliott. Compared to the likes of modern songwriting giants, Maggie Rogers, Regina Spektor and Carole King, Elliott leans into lusciously stacked harmonies and entrancing melodies. Her songs speak to the relatability and nuances of love, relationship and growing older. Accompanying Elliot is Charle Hunter, whose guitar technique has been described as "mind-boggling." Hunter is an "agile improviser with an ear for great tone" who plays custom-made seven- and eight-string guitars on which he simultaneously plays bass lines, chords, and melodies in a way that creates the illusion of two guitars.
