" He sounds like a cross between Bob Marley and Bob Dylan." - New York Times Stages Music Arts is thrilled to welcome Omari Banks back to Stages August 4th for TWO shows in our intimate, 60-seat performance hall. Son of the legendary Bankie Banx, Omari was born and raised on the beautiful island of Anguilla and found his music calling at a young age, though he veered through a career as a professional Cricket player, where he excelled on the world stage. Omari never fails to bring the house down and we are so excited to welcome him back to Baltimore! In fact, to meet demand, there are TWO show times to choose from! Show 1: 4:00 pm (doors 3:30) Show 2: 6:30 pm (doors 6:00) Omari leveraged his lifetime of experiences and life lessons gained traveling the globe back into his passion for songwriting and began perfecting his musicianship, leading him to create the debut album "Move On" - listed as #4 on the Top Ten Reggae Albums of 2015.

Share your talents at our next Open Mic Night! Open Mic Night is held bi-monthly on the third Thursday at Stages Music Arts Julian S. Smith Performance Hall. This ticket confirms your intent to attend this event as either a performer or spectator. 1-2 songs per performer (dependent on number of registrants). Arrive at 6 PM to claim your spot on the list. Show starts at 6:30 PM. Performance spots are on a first-come, first-served basis. This event is free, but donations are encouraged to our partner, Music United, a student-led non-profit uniting the students of Baltimore through music and performing arts programs. DONATE to Music United.

Jam Night

Let's jam! Jam Night is an opportunity for students of all abilities to informally play together under the guidance of an instructor. Jam Night can take many forms, depending on who is in attendance, but usually includes playing songs selected by attendees, guided improvisation, opportunities to solo and more. Jam night is a great way for beginners to ease into playing with others and for experienced musicians to practice improv and soloing skills. There is no audience for Jam Night - more an opportunity for musicians to hone their group playing and improv skills with the expectation that it will be messy and free! And it is SO MUCH FUN!
