Morgan Gonce Senior Recital

Join us to celebrate Morgan Gonce at her Senior Recital as she begins a new chapter of her musical development. Morgan will perform together with her instructor of 12 years and Stages' General Manager Charles Simon. The duo will perform selections spanning Morgan's entire musical journey, from some of the first music they ever learned, to some of the songs that have helped who she has become as an artist. Stages Music Arts proudly presents Walsh Kunkel in the Julian S. Smith performance hall. Walsh is a local jazz guitarist, performer, composer and teacher who can reguarly be seen in venues, clubs and art spaces throughout Baltimore & DC. Walsh is a member of several bands with extensive experience, pushing the boundaries of genre and technique - crafting his own unique style that encompasses jazz, ambient and experimental music. We are delighted to showcase Walsh where he will perform original music accompanied by Jude Botten on electric bass and Andrew Young on drums.

Beatles for Kids

The Beatles are the ultimate family rock band — one that kids, parents and grandparents can all enjoy together. And on Saturday May 11, WTMD is proud to host the Maryland based Beatles tribute band The Fabtastic Four to Saturday Morning Tunes - right here at Stages Music Arts! The Fabtastic Four play faithful renditions of Beatles classics, without the wigs or costumes. Because does it really matter what the band looks like? We’re all here for the music! And no band has more family friendly music than the Beatles. Featuring members of the power pop band Starbelly, the Fabtastic Four will perform outdoors. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the show starts at 10 a.m. and ends at 11 a.m. so we can all be home in time for lunch and nap time. This show is rain or shine. Tickets are non-refundable. Even the most talented musicians suffer from stage fright. Performing for a crowd is an entirely different skill set than playing music - but one that all musicians should study in order to feel relaxed on stage and perfom your best! Join Molly Garrett to learn practical techniques and strategies to conquer nerves and deliver confident, captivating performances every time!

Jam Night

Let's jam! Jam Night is an opportunity for students of all abilities to informally play together under the guidance of an instructor. Jam Night can take many forms, depending on who is in attendance, but usually includes playing songs selected by attendees, guided improvisation, opportunities to solo and more. Jam night is a great way for beginners to ease into playing with others and for experienced musicians to practice improv and soloing skills. There is no audience for Jam Night - more an opportunity for musicians to hone their group playing and improv skills with the expectation that it will be messy and free! And it is SO MUCH FUN!

Amplify: Affordable Video Content for Artists

Join LJR Creative on May 20th for a video & photo event to help you get affordable content to promote your music. Videos are shot with a single moving camera angle (see these video examples from previous events for samples). Each artist gets a 45-minute slot to film up to 4 of these one take videos (note: limit of 4 takes per song). The first video is $250 for solo and duo artists, $500 for bands. Photos are $200.

Arrive at 6 PM to claim your spot on the list. Show starts at 6:30 PM. Performance spots are on a first-come, first-served basis.
